About the Program

A 9-month university-level program delivered in partnership with Khalil Center. The only program offering integrated education combining core Islamic sciences with Islamic psychology. Two tracks — traditional Islamic disciplines plus unique comparative psychology courses — address the critical gap of ensuring IP students have foundational competence in Islamic law, hadith, creed, and Tasawwuf alongside psychological knowledge.

Academic Structure

Primary Focus

Academic integration of Islamic sciences and psychology. Builds traditional Islamic literacy specifically for psychology professionals and researchers through direct classical text study with comparative psychological analysis.

Teaching Format

Fully online. 4 hours pre-recorded video per week (Mon–Fri) + 4 hours mandatory live classes (Sundays). Small cohort format with international student body.

Theoretical Foundations

Classical Islamic scholarly literature (Tibb, Falsafah, Tasawwuf, Kalam, Fiqh); comparative analysis with modern psychology; TIIP model (Keshavarzi); Islamic character development and positive psychology; 40 Hadith on psychological themes; Islamic mental health ethics.

Academic Structure

Prerequisites

Bachelor’s in psychology or related field; graduate study in progress or completed; Usul Academy’s Foundations in Islamic Sciences or equivalent. University-level English.

Assessment & Completion Requirements

Coursework across 7 core courses plus ethics module: assignments, critical reading, classroom discussions, engagement with primary Islamic texts.

  • Engage directly with primary Islamic scholarly sources across classical disciplines (Tibb, Falsafah, Tasawwuf, Kalam, Fiqh).
  • Critically analyze convergence and divergence between classical Islamic and modern psychology.
  • Apply Islamic models of character development, psychotherapy, and community psychology.
  • Demonstrate competency in Islamic mental health ethics.
  • Synthesize diverse Islamic scholarly traditions to inform theoretical and clinical applications.

Scope of Practice Alignment

Supports academic research, teaching, and building the traditional knowledge base for informed clinical practice. Does not independently qualify for clinical practice. However, mental health practitioners who complete this diploma can also enroll in Khalil Center’s TIIP training — creating a comprehensive academic-to-clinical pathway.
