About the Program

Launched in 2022, organized in partnership with the Islamic Studies Research Academy (ISRA) and supported by the International Association of Muslim Psychologists (IAMP). The program explores the theory, practice, and spirituality of psychology through an Islamic lens while maintaining the academic rigor of a government-recognized Australian university credential.

Academic Structure

Primary Focus

Academic theory and applied Islamic psychology. Builds foundational knowledge across four subjects: introduction, human behavior, applied practice, and Islamic spirituality.

Teaching Format

Fully online. Lectures, tutorials, readings, forum activity, and assessments. Expect 10–12 hours per week per subject.

Theoretical Foundations

Introduction to Islamic Psychology; Islamic models of human behavior and experience; applied Islamic psychology; essentials of Islamic spirituality. Classical Islamic scholarship and contemporary psychological research.

Academic Structure

Prerequisites

Bachelor’s degree (or AQF equivalent) in any discipline, OR 3+ years relevant work experience. English language proficiency for international students.

Assessment & Completion Requirements

Coursework-based: assignments, readings, tutorial participation, forum engagement, and examinations or intensive school components.

  • Analyze human behavior and experience through Islamic psychological frameworks.
  • Apply Islamic psychological principles in professional and community contexts.

Scope of Practice Alignment

Supports academic roles, research, community education, and professional enhancement. As a graduate certificate (4 subjects), it provides foundational training but does not independently qualify graduates for professional counseling accreditation.
